#23 Summary and my thoughts

The trip to number 23 has been interesting. At times frustrating and seemingly pointless, there has been the odd moment of AH HAH, when something actually worked. There are some things which i will gladly revisit, for example, flickr and zoho, youtube and podcasting, but am less interested in some, for example an rss feed. The process of completing Learning 2.0 has provided exposure to a technological world in which ideas can be readily shared, and is certainly something which can be taken forth into everday (library) life.

#22 Downloadable audio books

This thing opens up a whole new world of listening. Have added a couple of sites that I thought might be interesting to follow up with given a home computer with quicktime and a lot more listening time.

In the absence of much Australian content in the sites explored, I have opted to add this link to an ABC connection. Would need a lot more time to explore the notions of podcasting, a lot of what i looked at required payment or subscription. Managed to locate a weather one and subscribe in bloglines, so i suppose that was something.

#20 YouTube

You Tube is lots of fun. It is quite fun to type in a keyword and come up with strange and fascinating videos. This is, however, one of the downsides. There is apparently no limit to what people think others will find interesting, when really alot of it is simply not that!! Oh well, each to their own.

#19 Discovering web 2.0 tools

In a fit of wishful thinking, I selected this travel site award winner from the Web 2.0 awards list. Useful if you are seeking comparative travel information. Similar to many other sites, some of which I was already familiar with. Web 2.0 awards was not available at this time, so only looked at the winners, but if the range here is anything to go by, the sky is the limit. Had a look at the directory suggested as an extra, and that was truly mind boggling. Would have to wait for some day when i have oodles of time to spare.

#18 ON LINE PRODUCTIVITY

Who knew that word processing on-line would be such an easy option. works just like any old wordprocessor. This may be the best Web 2.0 featured topic so far

All the exciting features of a wordprocessor and the ability to publish directly to blog. This would have been a great feature to be aware of prior to GRLC introducing wordprocessing on our public access terminals. It could still be very handy to borrowers who don't have a memory stick and want to save documents on our terminals.

By the way, this blog was created in zoho and published from there. Too easy!!

#17 Sanbdox WIKI

Adding my blog to the favourites page was pretty easy. Browsing the lists of favourites was somewhat entertaining, although these WIKIs become pretty hard to follow after a while. (Too much information). Tried to sign up for my own wiki, but they wanted a longer wiki user name and i was too tired to think of one, so next topic!!
