#15 Web 2.0 & Library 2.0
Ah, technology. Love it or not, we are bombarded with new and ever evolving technologies. It is a struggle at times (like now) to understand and keep up with innovations on line, but an eye-opener and pathway to the world. The expressed views in this week's "thing" suggest that libraries need to keep changing, keep up, anticipate, interact, collaborate, deliver ... the list goes on. Now, where's that book?
#14 Technorati
So much information, so little time. It was surprising to see how many results came up under Learning 2.0 - tried to export blog and/or photos to this site just to try and be clever, but nothing happened (or perhaps, i am just not clever enough with the techniques involved. Can't really see myself bothering to go back here.
#13 Del.icio.us
Well there sure was plenty to look out in this site. I found it very easy to sign in and search, however lacked the computer power to install the funny little whatsits into the toolbar on my computer. Social bookmarking is likely to be pretty handy in many settings, finding answers to many of the questions raised in our library setting. I have a niggling concern that tagging for social purposes on public access computers allows some privacy breach issues - judicious use only!!

#12 ROLLYO
Successfully created account with Rollyo, created a search engine or two. After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, have managed to link Rollyo to blog, this is perhaps the most exciting Ahh Hah moment i have had all year.
#11 Library Thing
Library thing is very easy to sign into, search and add items to a personalised booklist. Several years ago as a student, I had to demonstrate my ability to use a database, by cataloguing my book collection. Too bad library thing wasn't around at the time, it would have saved me months of hair pulling and swearing.
Week 9 : #10 image generator
Easy to spend hours playing around with image generators, I found it very tempting to sample many of the offerings listed on the site, for example, discovering my wrestling name, creating personalised images soap, christmas decorations, the list goes on and on.

#7 & #8 RSS & Newsreaders
For those who spend hours on the net and want the very latest in information, and want it NOW NOW NOW, RSS is probably a wonderful resource. I can, however, usually wait for the evening news or tomorrow's newspaper.
Creating the bloglines account presented no difficulty. Having much to say / share about this one presents a far greater challenge. Think i'll proceed to the next exercise ...
